Timeline Jam is a music game, not a data business. You can play as a guest, or create an optional account to save progress across devices. Accounts use an email address and a six-digit sign-in code. There are no ads or third-party trackers.
A pseudonymous device identifier. A random ID stored on your device. It is not your name, phone number, Apple ID, or advertising ID, and it can’t be used to identify you outside the game. It lets your streaks, badges, and settings survive between visits. If you create an account, the identifier and its game history become associated with that account.
Gameplay events. Things like games started, cards placed, and rounds won, tied to the pseudonymous ID above. We use these to improve the game.
Pseudonymous network identifier. When a strong deployment secret is configured, we may create a one-way, deployment-specific identifier from the IP address already present in a standard web request. We do not store the raw address, send it to a geolocation provider, or use it to infer precise or approximate location. If the secret is unavailable, we do not store an IP-derived identifier.
Anything you type in. If you enter a player name or city for the leaderboard, it’s shown where you put it. Pick any name you like — we don’t verify it and don’t want your real one unless you do.
Account email. If you choose to save your progress with an optional account, we collect your email address to send six-digit sign-in codes and connect your game history to your account. Your email is not shown on the leaderboard or other public surfaces. Supabase processes account authentication for us as a service provider.
We don’t sell your data, track you across other apps or websites, or show ads. We disclose only the data needed for service providers to operate Timeline Jam, including Supabase for optional account authentication and the media services described below. We don’t collect contacts, photos, or precise location.
All song audio in Timeline Jam consists of 30-second promotional preview clips streamed directly from Apple’s iTunes preview servers, as provided through the iTunes Search API and subject to Apple’s terms for that service. We never host, download, alter, or redistribute recordings, and no full-length tracks are available in the game.
Where a preview isn’t available, playback falls back to Spotify’s official embedded player (per Spotify’s Embed terms). Movie and sports clips play through YouTube’s official embedded player (per the YouTube Terms of Service). In every case the content is streamed by, remains on, and is attributed to the originating service.
Requests to those services are covered by their own privacy policies. If you play an embedded preview, Spotify or YouTube may receive your IP address and browser or device information, and may set cookies under their own policies. Timeline Jam does not receive your Spotify or YouTube account identity. If you are a rights holder with a question or concern about content that appears in the game, contact jason@adamantventures.com and we’ll respond promptly.
If you have an account, open Account, choose Delete account, and confirm. This deletes the account, its authentication identity, associated game history, analytics events, shared timelines, and feedback tied to its device identifiers. If an authentication or database service is temporarily unavailable, deletion is marked pending, access is locked, and the deletion worker retries it. A narrowly scoped anti-replay tombstone containing each deleted random device identifier is retained indefinitely so delayed requests cannot recreate deleted records. It contains no email, name, gameplay, analytics, or authentication data. Sign out only removes the account session from that device; it does not delete the account. Guest history remains connected to the random device identifier until it is cleared or attached to an account. You may also email jason@adamantventures.com with a deletion question. Clearing the app’s data (or your browser storage on the web) disconnects that guest device from its history but does not delete a saved account.
Guests can play without providing an email address. Optional accounts are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided account information, email us and we will investigate and delete it as appropriate.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions: jason@adamantventures.com.
